A LIFE ON THE WATER
Erminio Iantosca was just ten years old when he discovered the thrill of riding a jet ski. Born in Naples, Florida in 1980, he was fascinated by a friend’s amazing feat on a Kawasaki 550 stand-up. Erminio couldn’t wait to try it out for himself. He took to the jet ski like a fish to water.
Within a year he won First Place in the Novice Sport Class, his very first competition. He went on to win local races as well as qualify for the Skat-Trak World Finals in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Competing against top novice riders from around the world, he took the 1994 Novice Sport World Championship.
After moving on to the Expert Class, he was approached in 1997 by the Director of Yamaha’s Watercraft Factory Racing Division, Steve Lawler, to become an official factory rider on a Yamaha GP 1200 Runabout. By 1999 he had advanced to the professional level where he currently competes against riders nationally and world-wide.
In his first years as a professional, Erminio Iantosca was named Pro Rookie of the Year after accumulating the most points among first-year riders on the McGraw Insurance National Tour, then ranking him sixth nationally. He then completed the year by taking fourth place at the 1999 Skat-Trak World Finals. Erminio was now on the move!
As a Factory Riva Yamaha rider for the past six years, Erminio has consistently placed within the top ten rankings nationally and world-wide in the Runabout 1200 Super Stock Class.
For the last 13 years Erminio has been a dominant force in the jet ski racing industry. From novice to world class professional, his consistent success has brought him the respect of his racing peers—good friends off the race course but fierce competitors on the water.
Since racing season 2004 and including this past season of 2007 Erminio is now racing Kawasaki in the pro Runabout 1200 class. Erminio continues to be a fierce contender with a well planed stradegy of TAKING IT ALL in this upcoming 2008 racing season.
